We are now in our 30th year of brewing. We would like to thank all our customers for whom we have been brewing over the last 3 decades; it has been a privilege & a pleasure.
The Brewery produces 1,500 gallons of beer each week using malted barley milled on the premises, English hops, yeast and water. No sugars, colourings or additives are used except isinglass finings which settle the yeast sediment after brewing. The first pint of Ballard's was brewed in 1980 in the old cow house on our Sussex farm. The Brewery is managed by Carola Brown, and in 1988 the Brewery moved to new premises at the Old Sawmill in Nyewood.
Head Brewer, Francis Weston, has been with Ballard's since 1981. Francis holds a Certificate of Brewing Competence.
