HOW WE OPERATE |
|
|
|
|
As a candidate, you can register with CPL online and will then be contacted for an initial assessment of your needs and capabilities. Some of our disclosed vacancies are shown on this website, others will be advertised in the national press and in industry specific publications. There will be other assignments where we are engaged to find a specific candidate without disclosing the client’s name. There are many reasons for this including reorganisation, relocation, confidentiality and downsizing.
You should view finding a new role as a time-consuming marketing campaign with many different aspects to consider. You should think of yourself as a commodity - ask yourself if you are packaged appropriately so that we can market your talents effectively. What makes you stand out from the crowd? Competition is fierce and we generally find our response rates to web advertising will bring in a minimum of 70 applications.
Consider some of these points:
- How many versions of your CV do you have? It needs to be modular to allow you to quickly emphasize achievements relevant to specific vacancies that interest you.
- Are they accurate, easy to read and restricted to a maximum of 3 pages?
- Do they reflect your achievements? Are negative attitudes to a past role or the treatment you received from a specific employer creeping into the text?
- What will make an employer put your CV into the pile for further assessment?
Before putting you forward for a specific vacancy an in-depth interview will take place [either by telephone or at our offices in London or East Sussex]. Our clients may also ask you to take behavioural tests; be vetted by CPL by taking up your references; an employment check; a credit check; verification of qualifications and speaking to industry contacts about you. We will discuss this with you and gain your agreement before proceeding.
You must be authorised to work in the European Union and will need to submit a copy of your Passport or other valid identification as required under Amendments to Section 8 of the Asylum & Immigration Act prior to an interview
Please feel free to call us during normal office hours or use the CONTACT FORM to discuss the future direction that you career should be taking.
