BRIEF RESUME OF COMPANY
Caldyne Limited was formed in 1976 and until 1985 was based at Effingham Park where much of the refurbishment and development works were carried out by the Company for Trojan Limited, the owners of Effingham Park.
The present shareholders and directors, Stan Hooper and Brian Williams, joined the company in 1977 and 1980 respectively and became directors in 1984.
In 1984 the company acquired and moved to Caldyne House, Reigate Road, Hookwood.
The previous owners, wishing to retire, sold the business, the name and all assets to the present shareholders in 1986.
Due to expansion the Company moved to new headquarters at Caldyne Park, Rowfant during 2002.
The present directors have retained full control of the company and a brief overview of their shared responsibilities can be seen in the 'Management Structure' section of this document.
We employ Hascom Network Ltd of 160 Millbrook Road East, Southampton, SO15 1JR, as our safety, heath and welfare consultants. Manufacturing Operations
New 6000sq ft joinery workshop fully equipped to produce high quality products, doors, frames, windows, shop fronts, bars, desks, etc.
Refurbished 5000 sq ft fabrication shop manufacturing anything from structural steelwork to specialist architectural metalwork in all materials.
Storage
3000 sq ft secured internal storage. 25 acres external storage/call forward point, parking etc.
Labour Force
We employ regular directly employed labour force of 53 with an office and site administration staff of 11.
Contract works
Principle Contractors, general contracting, design and build, construction management and as major Subcontractors.
The company has a wide client base with a significant percentage of its work in the health and fitness industry and airports. Our experience of work in the Health and Fitness Industry is extensive, as we have worked for clients in this field since 1980. We were one of the first companies in the Country to carry out the conversion of Squash Courts into Gymnasium and Dance Studios and these were primarily for the then Allweather Sports Activities that became Wates Leisure and subsequently Cannon Leisure.
In addition to this specialist work we carried out works in general alteration and refurbishment of bar areas reception areas general public areas changing rooms and the like. We have also manufactured and installed purpose made joinery and metalwork including reception desks bars storage cupboards etc.
Clients in this industry have included Pinnacle Clubs, Cannon Leisure, Metropolitan Clubs, Civic Leisure, Topnotch Health & Fitness, The Roehampton Club and The Brighton Marina Company.
Within airports our experience is extensive and we have carried out large projects at Gatwick, Heathrow, Shannon, Jersey, Dublin and London Luton Airports.
Our staff and labour force hold BAA air-side passes,ACTA passes and our vehicles are also passed for airport use with a significant number of our employees holding air-side driving licenses. All operatives are qualified and are registered on the Construction Skills Certification Scheme. Fire Protection operatives are also qualified to NVQ Level 2. With this facility and the close proximity of our office, workshops and storage facilities, we are able to offer a holding and delivery service to Gatwick Airport.
We are also involved in New Build Projects and are currently constructing a 26 bedroom extension to an existing 15th Century Hotel consisting piled foundations, concrete beams and pile caps, external brick, block and stone walling (traditional construction), pre-cast floor planks and blocks, trussed timber roof covered with tiles. Our contract includes for all finishes, mechanical and electrical fit-outs, joinery, metalwork etc.
Field of Operations
Our general area of operations is from the South Coast, east as far as Dover and west to Southampton, and north to Cambridge and Oxford.
We also carry out contracts outside this area for regular clients, depending on the nature of the project.
