Prospect Social Life

A major part of life with Prospect is the social activity. When you come to study with us we hope you will make new friends and many students who come to the UK make friends for life.

Social activity is led by the students but every month there will be organised outings such as ten pin bowling, trips to the cinema in Watford and, because we are so close to London, there will be trips to the theatre or the ballet. For the more sporting students we have arranged discounted membership of one of Watford's finest sports centres for 5-a-side football, badminton, squash and use of the gym.

Oxford and Cambridge are both within one hour's driving and each term there will be a visit to see these university cities and maybe inspire the students to want to continue their studies at one of the fine universities. Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare is less than two hours away and the Roman city of Verulamium, now St. Albans is ten minutes away. St. Albans has a magnificent cathedral and Abbey dating from the 9th century and the Roman ruins that are even older.

The shopping, bars, theatres and nightclubs in Watford are superb. The Harlequin Centre is a new shopping mall with many of the country's leading retailers. There are many excellent pubs serving a wide selection of beers, lagers and food.

Your religious needs can probably be met with one of the churches, mosques or temples in the area. There are many denominational churches including Catholic, Methodist, Baptist and Anglican.
