Student Registration and Attendance Policies

These rules apply to students who are attending the school on Student Visas who are required to conform to the regulations laid down by the Immigration and Nationality Department. (IND). For all rules regarding student visas and visa extensions please visit www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk.

Registration

Students will register on either the web site at www.prospectelc.com/enrolment_and_reservation.htm or by completing the printed student record rom on arrival.

Attendance

Students studying with us on Student Visas are required to attend class for 15 hours every week during the day. Explained absences will be considered when taking into account a poor attendance record. Unexplained absences will be considered as a lack of attendance.

The school will give one verbal warning before issuing a written warning.

Once attendance has gone below 80% we will issue a verbal warning in a meeting with the school Director.

If the response to the verbal warning is unsatisfactory we will issue a warning letter. (A copy is available at reception). If there is no response to this warning letter we will write again, cancelling the course and we will inform the Home Office of our actions.

Should a student fail to appear for class for one month with no explanation we will inform the Home Office.

Should we discover that a student is working more than 20 hours per week we will inform the ome Office.

Non-attendance

Should a student fail to arrive on the anticipated date, unless we are given a reasonable explanation, we will inform the Home Offce, giving full name and accommodation details.

We are obliged to conform to the rules and regulations laid down by the Home Office to protect the School’s interests and the interests of the students who are studying here and those who want to study here.
