FERAL BIRD CONTROL
Feral birds are more than an eyesore. Infestations are a major health and safety hazard and can seriously damage the fabric of your building.
- Feral birds carry disease bacteria, including, E-Coli, Salmonella and respiratory infections.
- Acids with fouling stain can weaken stone and brickwork.
- Nests and faeces provide breeding and feeding grounds for insect pests.
- Bird fouling makes walkways slippery and unsafe.
- Faeces can block drains, causing flooding, timber decay and structural damage.
- Birds often peck away lagging, roofing and waterproofing materials for their nests.
- Feral birds will roost and breed. Once established the flock will only grow unless you act.
- Larger birds (e.g. Seagulls) are aggressive. During the breeding season, they will attack if you are close to their nest or chicks.
- Please note, that under DEFRA legislation, certain species, their nests and eggs (now including the starling and house sparrow pictured right) are not to be harmed or moved. We will advise you accordingly with this.

Access
A choice of access is often vital to provide the most effective and safest working environment for site personnel and the general public. We are able to provide all types of access systems and will advise you of the most efficient type. Often, personnel access is required through areas enclosed within bird net. This could mean using something as straight forward as a zip for occasional maintenance access, or even a fabricated emergency access gates such as the one here, sited below on a fire escape. |
