Legacy Giving
Leaving a legacy to charity is a way for you to support the organisations of your choice, in perhaps a more significant way then you can at any other time.
War Memorials Trust can provide details on how to leave a legacy to the charity to help to protect and conserve war memorial heritage. If you would like further information and/or a leaflet please contact us.
If you live outside the UK legacies or bequests can still be made to the Trust. For US citizens help and advice can be sought from CAFAmerica or contact your own financial advisor for further information.
Further Details
Did you know that annually charities in the United Kingdom are left bequests which total an astonishing £1.5 billion? Without doubt, this is the single most important source of income for the voluntary sector and indeed for most charities.
War Memorials Trust offers a short leaflet ‘Legacy Giving’ that briefly highlights the importance of making provision and ensuring your wishes are expressed by making a Will. Drawing up a Will is not perhaps the most cheerful of things to do but it really is a simple and inexpensive way of ensuring that on your death your money and possessions go to the people you want it to. The existence of a carefully planned and up to date Will means that those closest to you will not have to face unnecessary worries at a difficult time for them.
But a Will is not only an occassion to protect those around us. It is also a very special opportunity to make a mark in ways that most of us could never dream of doing during our lifetime. Many people find that they are able to leave a gift to a charity such as War Memorials Trust, in their Will. It can also help to reduce the Inheritance Tax liability on what you leave in your Will.
Above all it enables you to hand on your values and beliefs.
