Grandparent Entry Certificates giving the holder the right to stay and work in the UK for up to four years are available to those with a British born grandparent.

Shortage professions. Even if you have none of the entitlements above, you can still qualify to work in the UK if you can offer skills that are in short supply. This is particularly true of those with medical qualifications.
