Development in Botswana
One of the most significant educational and clinical training programme the St Stephen's AIDS Trust supports outside of the UK is the national Antiretroviral Clinical Preceptorship Programme in Botswana run by the African Comprehensive HIV Aid Partnership (ACHAP). Teams of doctors and nurses from the UK, recruited by the St Stephen's AIDS Trust, undertake 6 month secondments in Botswana delivering practical clinical expertise in the specialty of HIV and AIDS to train local doctors in prescribing antiretroviral drugs. Development in Vietnam
St Stephen's AIDS Trust works with the International Center for Equal Healthcare Access (ICEHA) to support its work in recruiting western physicians and nurses to volunteer to transfer their expertise on HIV care and infectious diseases to clinics in resource-poor settings.
