Old Park, Dover

Old Park comprises 20ha of chalk grassland, scrub and Beech copses which is designated a Site of Nature Conservation Interest and an Area of Local Landscape Value.

It had not been actively managed for several years before ACTA was commissioned by Dover Harbour Board to write a management plan. This has led to the restoration and enhancement of the site’s nature conservation interest.

The following work was undertaken:
habitat mapping and assessment
recording higher plants
assessment of potential for protected species
entomological survey
prescriptions for site management
ten-year schedule of work.
