Atomic Sounds first opened in February 1983 and, until March 2004, operated from a "small is beautiful" 200 square ft store in the West Sussex town of Shoreham by Sea.

The photos on this page give you an idea of what it looked like and how much tuneage we managed to succesfully pack into such a tiny space!

20 years on it still sells music to the masses, but now operates entirely online via this website and via Atomic's daily e-Bay auctions!

Atomic has always been a one-man operation. We hear you scream "One man, doing all this?"

Atomic is the unique brainchild of Tony Grist - a self-confessed Blondie 'geek' and all round musicholic!!

Tony brings a wealth of product and knowledge to a worldwide market place. Both here on the Atomic website, and at e-Bay auctions, you'll find things you probably won't see anywhere else!

If there's anything you CAN'T see, then we positively encourage you to ask! We always seems to hang onto those limited editions and sought-after rarities longer than the big high street stores.

Despite now operating entirely online - and thus not having a 'face for you to smile at' - Tony still prides himself on his customer service ethic....
