Gift Aid
Since the introduction of Gift Aid in April 2000 it has proved a vital additional source of income that assists War Memorials Trust in funding its work to protect and conserve war memorials.
If you are able to please make a Gift Aid declaration when you join, or donate to, War Memorials Trust. It will enable the charity to claim the additional 28% available to them. The charity can claim Gift Aid on your donation if you pay income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to the amount to be reclaimed on my donation. In order to claim the only further details required are those requested on the form.
Gift Aid is an extra 28 pence for every pound you give War Memorials Trust .
For example a
£10 Donation becomes £12.80
£20 Individual Annual Subscription can be turned into £25.60
£100 Life Membership could bring in £128.
If you have previously donated to War Memorials Trust but did not make a Gift Aid Declaration, or are a new donor, then please complete the form and return to War Memorials Trust 4 Lower Belgrave Street London SW1W OLA.
If you have any further questions about Gift Aid please read our FAQ's help sheet on Gift Aid. You may have been aware of changes to Gift Aid in April 2008. This is due to a change in the basic rate of tax. However due to the introduction of Tranisitional Relief charities will continue to receive 28p in the pound until April 2011 to assist them with managing the potential income fall. This means that although the donor is giving only 25p in every pound the charity will receive 28p.
