World Heritage Sites

It has been a huge privilege to not only visit a large
number of World Heritage Sites, but also to have had
the opportunity to work on several of the key British
sites and emerging sites. This selection of photographs
is a mixture of pseudo-iconic views and random jottings

Curonian Spit

Ferries cross regularly from Klaipeda, Lithuania to the resort
on the Curonian Spit called Smiltyne, from where it is just a
short walk across this sand dune World Heritage SIte to the
beaches of the Baltic. It is a major local playground, although
the swimming can be adventurous. The spit is owned by Lithuania
in the north and Russia (Kaliningrad) in the south and is another
place where the Teutonic Knights were influential (2000)
