Public art photos

Public art has been commissioned and put in place for
thousands of years, with a view to educate, record,
commemorate or to promote an idea. In the past
few years it has also been used to engage or surprise
the viewer and for this reason it has a value rather
different to that of sculpture, although there is
significant overlap between the two

Klaksvig

Sculpture by Hans Pauli Olsen sited in Klaksvig, Faroes. Several
of his works are housed in the very fine Art Museum in Torshavn,
where they are distributed in the grounds and many appear to be
related to challenging how people and their actions are perceived
